Charlie Shoemake – Central Coasting

The New Charlie Shoemake Trio & Quartet -Central Coasting CD
In the summer of 2012 the Central Coast Jazz Institute, a 501 (c) 3 organization, was created. It’s purpose was to provide scholarships for young musicians on the central coast of California to study jazz improvisation with me, Charlie Shoemake. This new recording is the result of that study for three very talented young players and I believe that it shows that meaningful jazz music can be made, contrary to opinion, even in unexpected locales. Unlike some, I see American jazz music thriving in the years to come as long as there continue to be striving young talents such as these. This recording is a debut for them with, I’m sure, many more important ones to come.
